Afternoon Tea Week takes place every second full week in August — August 8 to 14 this year. This is the prefect week to take a short break in the afternoon, enjoy a nice pot of tea and pair it with some delicious Boo-Shaw Bakery cookies!!
Now most of us think of Britain when we think of ‘Tea.’ And this delightful holiday did originate in Britain. Tea consumption increased dramatically during the early nineteenth century and it is around this time that Anna, the 7th Duchess of Bedford is said to have complained of “having that sinking feeling” during the late afternoon. The solution for the Duchess was a pot a tea and a light snack.
