National Good Samaritan Day; also known as Good Samaritan Involvement Day, is a day for unselfish actions to help those in need and to celebrate kindness. See how you can make a difference in a strangers life today by putting forth the effort to help someone in need and performing an act of kindness. At Boo-Shaw Bakery, we feel an act of kindness can always involve special treats for someone. Do you have a friend or co-worker who could really use a pick-me-up? Maybe get them a dozen Boo-Shaw Bakery Cookies, or another one of our gift baskets just as a simple act of kindness!
The term “Good Samaritan” comes from the Bible. It originates from the parable of the Good Samaritan, which can be found in the Gospel of Luke. The parable portrays a good-natured Samaritan who helps an injured stranger in need, despite their religious and ideological differences. In the story, a Samaritan helped out a stranger who had been beaten and robbed. The Samaritan went as far as to put the stranger up in an inn and pay for his lodging. The term can now be understood to encompass all actions that are done unselfishly for those in need.
However you choose to celebrate, make sure to spread kindness and generosity today.
