Do you have children currently in summer camp or after-school camps during the school year?  Maybe they are your own kids or your grandchildren or nephews and nieces? Or maybe you just know some friends and neighbors with children in camp. . . Next week, June 26 through June 30 is National Boys & Girls Clubs Week! This is something we can all take some time to learn about and see if there is any way we can join or help out!  Even if they are not our own children, these youngsters are part of everyone’s future!

Read about Boys & Girls Club of America on their website and use their tool to find out where you local clubs are! We like how Boys & Girls Club of America helps explain “Why You Should Join:”

Boys & Girls Clubs provide safe places where kids can be themselves and participate in fun programs that build their skills for school, the workforce and life. For parents, the Club is a support system you can count on — providing mentors, meals and meaningful life experiences for youth ages 6-18 after school and during the summer. We call that a win-win.

If you don’t have children but still want to find ways to help out, visit Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s “Ways To Give” page to learn about donating or volunteering or other ideas! When you volunteer at a Boys & Girls Club, you can make a difference for young people in your local community!  And Boo-Shaw Bakery would like to point out that most children we’ve ever met love our Boo-Shaw Bakery cookies!  So buy some individually packaged Boo-Shaw Bakery cookies and bring them to an employee at Boys & Girls Clubs of America for a fun treat, when allowed of course.

Donate your time or donate a few dollars if you have some to spare.  It’s nice to think about helping children to benefit everyone’s future!
