According to the Farmer’s Almanac, “The autumnal (fall) equinox marks the turning point when darkness begins to win out over daylight. Essentially, our hours of daylight—the period of time each day between sunrise and sunset—have been growing slightly shorter each day since the summer solstice in June, which is the longest day of the year (at least in terms of daylight)…”
Here at Boo-Shaw Bakery, we’d like to help keep you on your toes and remind you about Daylight Savings Day this Sunday, 11/6! Remember, you will get an extra hour (hopefully of sleep- wink, wink 😉😉) but it will also get darker an hour earlier… This can be a sign each Fall that “Winter is Coming…”
Welcome Fall Season! We hope many of you are enjoying Fall and maybe even some cooler weather? Here in Florida, we’re happy the temperatures are in the 70s / 80s instead of 90s! (appreciate the small things, right?).
Have you been invited to any Fall / Halloween parties yet? If not, you could always decide to throw your own!
Cinnamon Cookies are always a hit and they just make everyone feel like Fall season has arrived. Even here in Florida when our weather takes a bit longer to catch up with the seasonal changes 😀 🍁 🌰.
Our Cinnamon Bun cookies are a tribute to America’s favorite cinnamon rolls.
In 2022, the autumnal equinox—also called the September equinox or fall equinox—arrives on Thursday, September 22. This date marks the start of fall in the Northern Hemisphere and spring in the Southern Hemisphere.
For those in the Northern Hemisphere, when the Sun crosses the equator going from north to south, this marks the autumnal equinox. This equinoxes provide Earth with roughly 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness. Days become shorter than nights as the Sun continues to rise later and nightfall arrives earlier.
