Today, September 11th is Patriot Day. We will Never Forget! On September 14, 2001, President George W Bush proclaimed September 11th as a National Day of Prayer and Remembrance for the Victims of the Terrorist Attacks on September 11, 2001. The US Department of Defense provides good information about this day and gives the historical reference when President Barack Obama proclaimed Sept. 11 Patriot Day and National Day of Service, Remembrance on September 11, 2016 – September 11th is a time for all Americans to “honor all who lost their lives in the heartbreaking attacks of Sept. 11 and all who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country in the years that followed,” President Barack Obama.
Did you know July 18 was created as a special day called Perfect Family Day? That’s right! This is a day to celebrate families and realize ‘perfect’ can have a different meaning for everyone! This special day was created to recognize the importance of strong family bonds and celebrate all the wonderful things that make us a family. Whether your family is made up of siblings, cousins, parents, grandparents or even extended relatives, this is the perfect time to come together and have some fun. Today is a day to celebrate any special father for sure! History.com tells us that: The nation’s first Father’s Day was celebrated on June 19, 1910, in the state of Washington. However, it was not until 1972—58 years after President Woodrow Wilson made Mother’s Day official—that the day honoring fathers became a nationwide holiday in the United States.

Take a few moments to read and learn about ‘PayDay It Forward day.’ This is not the well-known ‘pay it forward’ technique where you cover the beverage of the car behind you in a fast food drive through, this day is so much more! March 29 is observed across the world as an opportunity to be kind to young black men and support them.
