Did you know there that September 15th each year is observed as National Online Learning Day? That’s Right!! This is a day for raising awareness of all of the resources, classes and learning opportunities that are available online. It is also a day to help people, both young or old, invest time in their own growth and education.
There are so many benefits to online learning. Flexibility, lower cost, self-pacing and learning self-motivation are just a few. . . .
Have you heard of International Day of Friendship? The International Day of Friendship was proclaimed in 2011 by the UN General Assembly with the idea that friendship between peoples, countries, cultures and individuals can inspire peace efforts and build bridges between communities. The resolution places emphasis on involving young people, as future leaders, in community activities that include different cultures and promote international understanding and respect for diversity.
Most of us use social media each and every day. In fact, Generation Z peeps tend to laugh at their parent’s generations who did not even have social media as children! They can’t imagine such an absence. Social media is a huge part of our lives now. Social Media Day began June 30th, 2010. It was created by Mashable as a way of recognizing the impact that social media has had on communications around the world, as well as bringing people together to celebrate.
Each year, the World Health Organization (WHO) holds World No Tobacco Day on May 31. Their goal is to spread awareness about the risks of tobacco use and how we can make the world tobacco free. Here are Boo-Shaw Bakery, we fully support and endorse this holiday! “No Tobacco” sounds great to us! 🙂 If you’re trying to quit using tobacco and feel like reaching for something containing tobacco, consider substituting something like Boo-Shaw Bakery cookies instead!
This day should be recognized and understood by everyone! Take a few moments to read and learn about ‘PayDay It Forward day.’ This is not the well-known ‘pay it forward’ technique where you cover the beverage of the car behind you in a fast food drive through, this day is so much more! March 29 is observed across the world as an opportunity to be kind to young black men and support them.
